Cape Brewers inaugurates nitrogen generator for their compound

Recently, craft beer brewery Kaapse Brouwers, commissioned the nitrogen generator specially assembled for them. The Presscon N-Gen nitrogen generator prevents oxidation of beer during the brewing process and replaces the often expensive CO2. Tsjomme Zijlstra, founder and one of the owners: “At the time, we saw the nitrogen generator at a fellow brewer. I was curious to see what nitrogen does in our brewery. What it saves, but also what it provides in terms of taste.”

Kaapse Brouwers is a craft beer brewery in the Rotterdam Makers District. In the basement of the Keilepand, they make efficient use of the available space. The nitrogen generator is therefore specially tailored for Kaapse Brouwers. In the design and execution, we chose to place the generator on a solid stainless steel rack. Exactly so that it is possible to place four pallets under the generator.

On-site nitrogen production advantage

Beer brewers use nitrogen to prevent oxidation during the brewing process. The Presscon N-gen always produces the required amount of nitrogen on site. Cape Brewers uses nitrogen in pre-tensioning their tanks, cleaning beer lines and as a push gas for transporting beer between pressure vessels. Aside from ease of use, all applications of on-site nitrogen production boil down to one major benefit: cost savings. Depending on the purchase and delivery costs of CO2, a brewer will recoup its investment in two years. After that, one realizes a substantial cost reduction. That is for good reason, a special beer!
