Presscon - Vacuum pressure relief valve

The Presscon PV-Series vacuum overpressure protectors provide protection for your vertical buffer tank from overpressure and vacuum. The vacuum protector is placed on the roof of the vertical buffer tank and ensures that the buffer tank is protected from vacuum and from overpressure. The vacuum overpressure protector can also be used in combination with other products, such as Biogas and petrochemical (Atex).

If the pressure of the nitrogen above the water increases due to refilling, expansion and/or steaming, the working pressure valve will open. If it cannot handle it, the maximum pressure side of the vacuum overpressure protector will open. An open connection to the outside air is created. Excess nitrogen can flow out through the opening. The working pressure valve remains open until the pressure equals the working pressure.
If the pressure continues to rise, then the pressure relief valve will also open when the maximum overpressure is reached. The vacuum overpressure protector remains open until the pressure drops below the maximum overpressure. The moment the pressure drops and a vacuum occurs, the vacuum valve will let air into the tank. This is to prevent negative pressure from building up, causing the tank to implode.
